Antennas for Wireless Internet

An antenna is required to receive the Internet signal from Cloud Alliance Access Points. In most cases, the built-in antennas in our high-performance TrangoBroadband radios will be all that are needed. In some areas, depending on location and the terrain, an external antenna may be required. The radio and antenna may be mounted on a wall, roof, or pole.

Some installations may require additional mounting hardware, cabling or network devices. If needed, Cloud Alliance can provide this additional equipment, at a reasonable cost.

Please Note: The following equipment is NOT included in the standard installation price.

Ethernet Interface: An ethernet interface is a circuit board with an RJ-45 connector that is installed in your PC. The RJ-45 connector looks like a phone jack only it has 8 connections instead of 4. This circuit allows your PC to connect to the Cloud Alliance network. These are also known as NICs (network interface cards).
Network Interface Card
Broadband Router (10/100 Mbps): A broadband router is a device used for splitting the incoming broadband signal and sending it to multiple PCs. You will need a router if you plan to connect Cloudburst wireless broadband on more than one PC, or if your computer’s operating system does not provide a “firewall.” Routers can provide wired or wireless local networks.

Advanced or custom configurations can be quoted when scheduling your installation, or as need should arise.
